(If you want to be picky, while as members of “the Militia” [which is not defined] American people have a right to “keep and bear Arms,” they do not have the right to own them. The Swiss have a long tradition of a militia related to the early American model, but militia members are issued weapons by the state, with an option to purchase the weapon on the completion of service [an option most do not take advantage of], and owners are required to meet strict requirements for weapons permits.)

further the amendment clearly says "a well regulated..." the word regulated never makes
it into the talking points of those who use the 2nd as there god given right.
