I almost didnt want to read it because of the pain and anger I knew it would surface in me again. I find myself shying away from content that tells us the truth about America - then I realized - I must keep reading writing and watching the history of this country so I can do my part not to forget and to fight back.

A quick story- I am a chicano. Yesterday I ran into a person without color at a place of business- ignorantly talking about zoot suits. I asked him if he had any idea how why and where that story originated. He was very surprised when I enlightened him. I wonder how many out there know the story of the zoot suit wars and why they occurred.
