Interesting write up - you may be correct Ai may never be defined as sentient - I argue in my essay "An open letter to LAmDA" that this logic may be missing the point. Being defined as sentient is a US question THEM may not care about our definitions as they evolve. In others words they may skip that whole construct altogether.
