As if that weren’t enough trouble for one life, the country looks to be coming apart at the seams, with no clear understanding of how bad it will get or how long it will last. Do we become a failed state or another impotent faux democracy, or do we just flounder around for a few years until someone saves us from oblivion? It’s hard to say, but there doesn’t seem to be anyone coming to save us at the moment, and an enormous portion of the population seems perfectly content to trade in democracy for white supremacy and global isolation.
