Well known in the rank's of his bigotry but honestly most of LAPD was - even the officers of color showed us kids with color ( I am a Chicano) their hate for us. I got a gang card at 12 - never participated in an organized gang or wore the clothing in fact I was a dirty and bleached long haired surfer/skater but obviously Mexican. They would stop me all the time walking to school.
